HISTORY
All teas regardless if they are Green, Black, Oolong… not including Herbals, all come from one plant called Camellia Sinensis, native to Asia. (Unfortunately, the USA does not have an ideal climate for growing them at this time.) They are grown widely in China, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Japan, etc… Tea history has began some 500 years ago.
It is the manufacturing process, culture, weather, elevation, tea maker’s skill, love, etc… that differentiate teas. You may taste same tea differently depending on how your body or mind is feeling that day.
They say there are as many kinds of teas as many of Chinese people exist in this world and it takes few life times to try them all. Don’t worry, they can be divided into few categories and our menu is made up simple for beginners to understand and also includes high-grade ones to enjoy for those tea connoisseurs out there. (you know who you are)
Roji offers basic teas so that you can clearly taste different characteristics between our selections. We hope to help you in fiding one that best suits your preference. Once you try variety of teas and your body registers them, your body will tell you what kind of tea you need.
